In burlesque, our craft thrives on collaboration and an eye to artistry, but giving and receiving feedback - whether in rehearsals, on stage, or in competitions - can feel intimidating.
You'll love this workshop if you have ever:
dreaded getting onstage because of what people will say to you
felt like throwing up at the thought of showing others your 'in progress' work
been asked to give feedback and frozen/stumbled over your words/accidentally blurted out the wrong thing
received feedback that made you want to quit burlesque altogether
Through interactive exercises, group discussions, and playful performance practice, this workshop will help you approach feedback with greater confidence, clarity, and compassion.
Level: Open Level
What to Bring

About Your Instructor:
Putting the erotic in neurotic and the zest in existential crisis, Mae B Wilde is your friendly neighbourhood activist, artist, and all-round good time.
Winner of Apprentease Victoria 2024, and co-director and co-producer of CHOOKAS, Mae combines a longtime love of burlesque with training in bouffon, clowning, and physical theatre. A collaborator at heart, Mae is passionate about building creative communities that are political, compassionate, and ridiculous to their core.
Mae runs a monthly burlesque meet-up in Naarm for performers to connect, share, and improve their craft, with an emphasis on feedback that’s generous, curious, and grounded in growth.
